Quote from: YoDoug on December 07, 2023, 06:44 AMYou can find dozens of "Doctors" and influencers on social media claiming all kinds of stuff about ******. They say it particle size, etc. that make the difference. They cherry pick studies to make a convincing sounding case. However the one thing they can't do

Hey, that sounds just like what the anti-vaxers do.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

All I know is I will never get the same sensory satisfaction from a vegetable that I do from a properly cooked piece of beef. If this picture does not make you salivate and make you want it, then you are either lying or dead.

Your tastes change when eat different food. I can honestly say that does not appeal to me. The longer I go on a vegan diet, the less appealing meat is. In sauces or other dishes where the meat is less evident it still looks good, but just a chunk of meat on a plate, nope. In actuality I still cook food for my kids and raw meat kind of grosses me out. I have seen enough data on puss and fecal matter of meat to see it as appetizing anymore. I love the plethora of colors in veggies and good plant based dishes. That makes me want to eat it. To me the dish below looks way more appetizing than steak.

I get this. Back in highschool when I was running competitively I didn't eat any desserts. Holidays would come around and I wouldn't even really want the pie or cake or whatever was for desert. It just didn't seem as appetizing.

Same with drinks, used to have all sorts of sugary drinks. When I was running I drank strictly water and milk. I found after a few weeks I didn't even consider reaching for the Gatorade. I was happy with water

With that said I don't ever plan on going vegetarian. But more power to those who do

I'd be screwed. I'm not a big fan of beans, rice, or cauliflower.

We have been adding this recipe into our regular meal rotation.

Firecracker Tofu.

In oven roast broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, carrots, peppers, and onions in light olive oil and garlic herb seasoning. 450 degrees until charred, about 20-25 minutes. toss in bowl with favorite teriyaki style sauce.

Cube tofu. Marinade in siracha (1/2 cup), brown sugar (1/2 cup), soy sauce (2 tbsp), garlic (1/2 tsp). Toss in corn starch. Save remaining sauce for finish. pan fry in light oil until crunchy. Toss in remaining sauce.

Serve over rice.

Firecracker Tofu...

Stopped reading at 'tofu' :coffee:

I cooked 2lbs of bacon last night on the pellet grill.

In a sprit of inclusiveness, I made my world famous LGBT sammiches.

Lettuce, guacamole, bacon, and tomato.

Ate a few slices of cold bacon for breakfast because, it's bacon.

Will crumble the remaining bacon tonight and top baked taters with it.

You could easily substitute chicken for the tofu, you could even add some bacon. The only other change to the recipe would be to not forget to take your statins the next morning.  :)  ;)

My local grocery store sells packages of pre-cut vegetables that are labeled for different purposes. There is one that is labeled "fajita vegetables". It has sliced red and green bell peppers, sliced white onion and sliced jalapeno. It costs 5 bucks. I'll buy that, some chicken broth and smoked sausage and a serrano and habanero pepper. Slice and brown the sausage, chop the vegetables into bite sized pieces and cook. Add the sausage back along with the ckicken broth and some rice. It's really good. I'll sometimes substitute steak and use stir fry sauce.

Your plate looks like a good meal but a steak is a steak and the one shown makes my mouth water up.

It's actually the ratio of total cholesterol to good HDL
