The Ole "Microbucks is in the Mail" Scam.

Wasn't the Bet "Trump wouldn't win one state"?

I always love that excuse.
Customers send prints that were literally drawn the previous week, but say no model avail when you can clearly see the model on the print.
Sometimes they use that excuse for when they don't want to take the 20 seconds to fire off an email requesting a cad file.

The real meaning behind "no CAD model available"  is "sorry, but our engineer is a steaming pile of shit and we don't trust his CAD modeling skills so we're going to make you re-do the work we know is sub-standard AND if you make a mistake we'll torch your ass for it. That's the REAL definition of "sorry, there's no CAD model available."

Oh I forgot one of the biggest utterances of dumassery I have ever heard from an Engineer:

"No drawing? Ok then, why can't you just make it to CAD nominal?"

:secret: (It would have been hilarious if he was joking, but he was as serious as a heart attack...   )

Project manager who was with us for about a year and a half: "So when you bring a model into Mastercam does it automatically generate the code for your machine or do you have to mess with it a bit?"

Now That is Funny.

Sad, But Funny.

Sometimes for proprietary reasons I don't send a model in its native SW file. So I just send them a dummy (step or parasolid file).

Wonder if that could be a reason not sending the CAD model? I doubt it but, never know...

For me Step or Solid was perfect. All I needed after that was Tolerances.

Shouldn't be a Big deal. Hell you already made the Print. Finish The Job.

I also made it a habit to speak individually.

And made it Clear what I Needed to give them the Best result That They wanted. I would actually ask them. "What makes you're best Result"?

And Then I would say "Can you send it like This"?

I have one engineer here who likes to put the tolerances in the Solidworks sketches so he doesn't have to make a print.  That's a royal pain.
