My son and daughter-in-law have 2 Labs, and she also makes homemade dog food for them with boiled chicken, rice, and fresh veggies.
Both dogs are fit and healthy, although the male is a bit overweight according to their vet. 

The female was the runt of her litter, so she is actually a little bit underweight.
She is also a very high-energy dog who is always on the go, so I think she burns off calories at a much higher rate than the male.

Think about what is happening with the .gov spending billions to massacre every flock of chickens where a non zero number of chickens get avian flu.

They are killing sick birds and healthy birds.

They are doing nothing to stop the source of the infection, wild birds. Primarily migratory waterfowl.

We will never have flocks of chickens that develop any immunity to the virus because we will have killed all the healthy ones off.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture last week issued a conditional license for an avian flu vaccine for use in chickens, amid an outbreak ravaging poultry flocks, contributing to the sky-high price of eggs.

Zoetis, the manufacturer behind the vaccine, announced the conditional approval Friday, saying in a news release its scientists had begun updating its existing avian flu vaccine in 2022.

"We've been working with the administration and with Congress, and we're very excited today to get the licensure for (the vaccine) in poultry, which we think will be a tool that we will help support the government as they deem necessary," Zoetis CEO Kristin Peck told CNBC on Friday.

While other countries already vaccinate chickens against bird flu, the U.S. approach has long been focused on eradicating the virus, mainly through culling flocks of birds when a case is identified. Historically, vaccination has been thought to carry a number of complications, including making it difficult to detect the virus in inoculated birds and trade concerns.

But the strategy may be shifting as bird flu spreads to other types of animals, like cattle, and becomes more difficult to contain: Over the last 30 days, 146 flocks have been confirmed to have avian flu, affecting more than 20.5 million birds, according to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, part of the USDA. More than 150 million birds have been affected since the current outbreak began in 2022.
