We will put a defensive weapon system on Greenland.  There is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it either.

It's the halfway point from a Russian ICBM to DC.

But "someone" has to be the nasty policeman - the fallguy - for this installation and what comes after.
But to think Trump has anything to do with the decision, is crazy IMHO.
Afterall.... next new POTUS can and will obviously remove it all and return everything back to Greenland/Dutch righting this unpopular policy...
Oh....prolly not....

This is a wildly understated point. To go through daily life believing that the figureheads of gov't are "making the big descisions" is buying into it hook line and sinker. Someone is fostering the tension, someone wants you to see everything you are presented with on TV and the web... Who are these someones, and what do they want? Is a much more important question than "Will the US Deport Penguins to Make Room for Space Lasers in Greenland?" (which is just as probable as an 'invasion')

Ah, the ubiquitous "someone."

And while you make sure to ask the question of who that "someone" could be, it doesn't make the supposition any less ridiculous.

Is it possible that the person in the White House just sucks? (That goes for Biden, too.)

Quote from: beej on January 20, 2026, 05:55 AMMy personal feelings are that the entire american electorate gets a share in the blame. What ever you think of Trump, and I can see why people don't like him. The Democrats, if the are so far superior, should have been able to field a candidate that would beat him handily. Both parties have fallen so far, and quite honestly, are both being lead by some of the worst factions of their respective parties.  And each one saying, at least I'm not that guy.

If someone would put up a candidate that says lesbians can't have wieners, men can't have babies, and would of addressed the immigration problem without approving of shooting people in the face who interfered then people might vote for him/her. The libertarian guy did have all that, but he sucks dicks, and most conservatives cannot swallow that.

Well, we made it 124 posts before someone started talking worrying about what was in another person's panties.

Well done, FleeMC.

I don't know about "nothing"...  They could revoke the treaty.  But, short of that, it is true that the US can do whatever it wants in Greenland, with the only requirement being that Denmark/Greenland authorities be notified of US movements.  No permission required.

So, my question is, kinda like the bs about blowing up fishing boats with "drugs on them", when they were pardoning a guy who brought 400 tons of cocaine here, and the mission clearly was to arrest/depose the president of a sovereign nation, what's the actual target here?  Clearly we do not need to invade/buy/takeover Greenland if we went to build defense and monitoring ability there.  WTF are they actually trying to do?

My 10bucks is the conglomeration of landmasses controlled into the 4 or 5 large areas.
Then it will be 2 or 3.
Then, just the one....

And don't think you're unique and just the one with the suck. All you have to do, is look abroad....Ohhhh, and "abroad", doesn't mean "the other states"
