Kentucky had a vote on an amendment to ban abortion for any reason. It failed to pass. I voted no as that's just too ridged.

The key to fixing mail-in-voting is transparency. There needs to be a few changes to make the process easy, safe, and secure.

1. Standard format, open, registration data bases. Voter integrity groups, and concerned citizens need to be able to easily access registration data including mail-in ballot requests.

2. Open source voting machine software. If you want to sell your machines you should not have anything to hide. As far as the "intellectual" property BS argument. How proprietary can counting 1+1+1+1....., one voter, one vote for one candidate be.

3. All votes counted need to be tracked by congressional district. The info is already there. This data needs to be in open, accessible databases for voter groups and concerned citizens. There needs to be a way to reconcile ballot requests to ballots counted by district.

IMO, if those measures were in place it would not make it anymore difficult for people to vote but it would make it pretty difficult large scale fraud. The magical ballot dumps that keep happening in the middle of the night would be easily tracked back to a congressional district and could be reconciled with ballot requests. If those ballot dumps are legit votes the data would match.

Here in NH, every single solitary commercial that ran in favor of the Democrat was "abortion", "ending social security" & "too radical" or "a disaster"

They ran on NO PLATFORM, none, sip, zilch, nada

Same here, probably 20 to 1 ratio of Abortion scare to very few "too extreme" ads.

Gotta love the party grasping at the vestiges of killing baby girls and boys. Next thing you know they'll want THEIR slaves back. But at least this time around they will be as diverse with slavic and african decent with a LGBTQXYZABC cohort.

Quote from: Newbeeeeâ„¢ on November 10, 2022, 06:10 AMInterest rates will be 10+% soon.

Just saw on the news this morning. Credit card rates are at highest ever.

https://www.nbcnews.com/business/consumer/credit-card-interest-rates-hit-record-high-rcna56373

The cost of carrying a balance on your credit card is now the highest it's been in more than 30 years.

According to survey data from Bankrate.com, the average credit card interest rate has climbed to 19.04%.

"Bankrate has been surveying credit card rates since 1985, and this eclipses the previous all-time high of 19.00% from July 1991," Bankrate chief financial analyst Greg McBride wrote Wednesday.

Quote from: beej on November 10, 2022, 06:35 AMin fairness. The main message of the republican party was fixing inflation, crime, and the border.

It's too bad they left that trail through the primaries where they were pushing all the crazy stuff their base liked.

You can't unsay those things. People are aware.

The majority of moderate Americans are tired of crazy. It's not hard to understand.

4. All voting choices should be hand written instead of filling out a circle. A voting machine can be programmed to move 1 vote to another person every four times that filled circle is counted, but it can't forge a written different name.

Hence my number 2 that the voting machine software needs to be open source. We live in the age of big data. There is no reason why a blockchain style record of every vote counted, when, what district, etc. can't be added to a database. An image of the ballots could even be added.

I think that was his point with the open source software. Open Source software is easily audited.

Speaking of audited, I'm surprised that any software used by the government isn't somehow audited?

Different features can be turned on and off by any amount of ways. Who writes the auditing software? Does the auditing software change the date and time to the voting date and schedule. Can the machine software notice the clock change and turn off the illegal side of the software? When is the software loaded into the machine. Who does the loading? Any devise with corrupted software has the opportunity to be turned on after any given command so to beat it you have to include something that it cannot do. Changing hand written names with the same style of handwriting is something that it cannot do.

It would still have to read in the hand written name wouldn't it? That's not any more secure than a filled in dot, just more complicated and prone to potentially a spelling mistake, causing a spoiled ballet*

*that's a spelling joke there for those of you following at home
