I didn't waste my time watching the debate, but from what I am hearing and seeing this morning it went pretty much as I expected.
Many have been saying all along that Biden is unfit to serve due to his diminished mental capacity, and it looks like he only reinforced that point last night.

I doubt his pride will allow him to voluntarily step down, so the Dem Convention will be chaos.
They will literally need to force him out with an open convention, which will not be a good look for them.

But, the Dems have nobody to blame but themselves for this mess, and it may be too late for them to fix it.

That was pretty bad, but I actually expected worse.
I was looking forward to NPR's coverage this morning, but those old hens must have been too hung over
to do their work.
They had a 30 second piece on Kamala Harris defending Demetia Joe's performance, then cut
to a BBC show about the price of phone calls in US prisons.

Who won the debate last night is of little consequence...

America lost last night.

What a mess

Yeah, if you like gun regulation and climate change wackos

I said decent, not ideal lol.

Gun regulation is protected and is just a campaign vote getting and money getting topic.
So is climate change.

I feel like the only way that could have been any worse would have been if Biden just keeled over and died right there on stage.  I felt sorry for him. Trump lied quite a bit and Biden was too lost to take advantage.

I felt like Trump had plenty of opportunity to nail the coffin shut but he's just not smart enough. I have to give him credit for not being a complete ass. That is what I expected. I could tell that Trump had some coaching for this one.

I and many others have been saying this for 5 years. He was unfit when he was "campaigning" initially.

I'll let you do your own fact checking. One example was when he said - paraphrasing - "everyone including all legal scholars, wanted abortion rights sent back to the States".  That is complete horse shit. Not even a little true. He even went as far as to say that the left supports killing children after birth.  Only the evangelical right and a small group of scholars wanted to see Roe overturned.  A majority of the country found it to be unpopular and still do. I don't want to open this can of worms again, but I hate that the right is so dishonest on this subject.

I will give you this, most of his "lies" were embellishments. And don't get me wrong on this. Biden tossed up some good ones too. My point was, that if Biden had any marbles left in his head, he would have taken advantage. I didn't expect Trump to beat him on facts but he did do better than I thought he would.

Biden said he was a 6 handicap and then he said he was an 8.  That turd can't even swing a club.

Typical and expected.

Both sides ALWAYS accuse the other side of lying, and the truth is ALWAYS somewhere in between.

Oh I think he had some coaching as well, but he didn't really need to nail the coffin shut when Biden was going to do that all by himself.

Trump was at least smart enough to listen to those around him who said to mostly just let Joe ramble on, and also that the last thing he wanted to do was give the impression that he was bullying Joe in any way.

It was so bad that you can bet there are closed-door meetings in the DNC today to try to plan a path forward to change their nominee, and it ain't gonna be pretty.
