Except there won't be a direct link to the blog, but we will have a workaround for that.

Quote from: Zoffen on August 23, 2025, 04:46 PMMaybe thats the play. Make the software just shitty enough that humans hate to use it. But good enough that the only way to get stuff done is to relent and use the Integrated AI assistant...
Funny, i just made essentially the same observation on the 2026 rant thread on emastercam.

Correction, it will be a seven second holographic memory implant.  Or maybe it's already been done in the long form in just over two hours in the movie that is Brazil.

Just thought I would add that the levels manager is a hunk of shit. Oh wait, I already said that. It still is a hunk of shit.

While I am at it, the new tool creation is a hunk of shit too. Who in the fuck names their tool before they create it? Thats like naming a baby before you fuck.

Seems like there is a market for aftermarket level managers. How much would ya'll pay to get the old level manager back? I have a half written nethook from a decade ago that supported groups of levels. Its really not that hard to do. Every 1000's levels is a "Group" and everything in the those 1000 levels would be in those groups. You just do this behind the scenes and hide the level number from the user. Thats all that was needed. Carry on.

Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.

Safety! is no Accident!

I usually dive in to new versions head first and worry about the consequences later. I didn't do that with 2026 and I'm starting to think I made the right decision on that.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

#metoo, I played around with my own mgr for a while.

There was a thread on Emcam a while back about creating a Level Manager net hook

Perhaps I should hack up a retro level manager.

LoL @ changing the logo.
Worst mistake ANY product can make in any industry.
Instantly recognisable names and logos, are, the product.

(Caveat....if the name or product is shite and needs burying or relaunching, then crack on....)....

Only suspicions at this point....

I suspect Sandvik is going to put their name in there, prominently, and I also suspect the sales based model will be getting updated....

I have had zero contact over it just somethings that have appeared as low hanging fruit for a few years at this point

Should we upgrade our hasp license to 5ax before then so we don't get roped into a subscription? And at least have it for the versions we already 'own'? I don't want to present this to the brass in a chicken little kind of way, but I do worry about it if we need multiaxis in the future...
